We May Not Respond
We regret that we don't answer all link suggestions — the volume of email is simply too great.
Link Suggestions We Look At
Our site focuses on the needs of Canadian writers, especially the needs of our members. Your link suggestion has a much higher probability of being looked at and included on our site if the site meets our target audience.
- We look for sites with compelling content instructive in the craft of writing and the business of writing.
- We value sites with current and accurate paid writing markets or contests.
- Site content should be static. This site rarely links to transient content.
Link Suggestions We Discard
If you are recommending linking to a site that contains one or more of these elements, it is highly unlikely that we will link to it:
- Sites containing merely personal writing, opinion or off-topic information will not be included.
- Sites related to assessing educational institutions unless they are specifically geared to writing and of general interest to Canadian writers.
- Link farms — pages willing to include anybody, in order to attempt to raise their visibility — will not be included. We link to sites if the content has value. Reciprocal links are only required of our members for inclusion on the CAA Members' Sites page.
- We seldom link to sites built with frames unless the entire site is relevant. Why linking to frames-based sites is difficult.
More Information
More detailed information is available on the Writing Links Overview page about what sort of content we are looking for.
