Welcome

If You're Serious About Writing

Whether you're a published author or an emerging writer, if you're serious about your writing, you've come to the right place!

Writers Helping Writers

The CAA motto is Writers Helping Writers and incorporates several objectives:

About This Branch

This Branch is one of several CAA branches representing local writers within a national association of writers. You have the advantages of a local writing group combined with the protection and benefits that only a national association can provide.

Victoria & Islands Branch offers meetings, Writers' Circles, workshops and other writing events that provide advice, skills development, networking opportunities and other writing-related resources.

Open to Everyone

Our events are open to everyone interested in writing.

Admission to most events is free to CAA Members; non-members pay a nominal fee that varies, depending on the event.

Victoria & Islands Branch Membership

CAA Associate membership does not require publication credits and will be an excellent investment in your writing career.

To join the Victoria & Islands Branch, please check Victoria & Islands in the Branch Affiliation section on the CAA membership form.

Take advantage of the "4 for 3 Special Pricing" currently available by applying through individual Branches of Canadian Authors Association.

Annual National CanWrite! Conference

CanWrite! Conference logo

Each year the CAA hosts their national CanWrite! Conference in a different location across Canada. There is always a wonderful program for writers, including an Awards Banquet which includes our annual CAA Literary Awards, "honouring writing that achieves excellence without sacrificing popular appeal."
